Prayer to Saraswati - Saraswati Stotram of Agastya

या कुन्देन्दुतुषारहारधवला या शुभ्रवस्त्रावृता

या वीणावरदण्डमण्डितकरा या श्वेतपद्मासना ।

या ब्रह्माच्युतशंकरप्रभृतिभिर्देवैः सदा पूजिता

सा मां पातु सरस्वति भगवती निःशेषजाड्यापहा ॥१॥

Yā kundendu tusāra hāra dhavala

yā śubhra vastāvrtā ।

Yā vīnā varadanda mandita karā

yā śveta padmāsanā ।

Yā brahmācyuta śankara prabhrti-bhir

devaih sadā vanditā ।

Sā mām pātu sarasvatī

bhagavatī nih śesa jādyāpahā ॥

Translation:

You (she) who are delicate, white-complexioned like a garland of dew drops on the moon,

Who wears a shining garment,

Whose hands are adorned with the finest vina and playing stick

Who is seated on a white lotus

Who is always worshiped by the gods, beginning with Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara (Siva)

May you/she (Saraswati), the blessed Goddess, who removes ignorance completely protect me.
